Are You Wanting to Make Your Own Quilted Coat?

I made the Copenhagen Quilted Coat pictured above, and I cannot wait to have the time to make another one using a pieced quilt top!  The pattern includes options for a hood (as shown) or for a collar.

Do you want to make your own quilt coat, but have thoughts like these that are holding you back?

    • I don’t know where to find a pattern.
    • I don’t want to print a pdf pattern and then have to tape all of the pieces together…and then cut them all out.
    • I don’t have room to lay out a quilt and pin paper pieces to it to do the cutting.

If so, I have something AMAZING for you!

Get the Pattern Pieces Stitched Right Onto Your Quilt!

WHAT?!?!  YES!  That’s Right!  I can load your quilt top and backing onto my longarm, quilt it for you, and then stitch the outline of the pattern pieces (in a bright, contrasting thread) directly onto your quilt.

There are so many benefits to this process!

    • No paper pattern to print.
    • No worrying if the printer printed at the correct scale.
    • No taping 6 pieces together to create the pattern piece for the coat back.
    • No need to lay the quilt all flat to pin pattern pieces on.
    • No need to lay the quilt all flat to cut the pieces out – you can just get part of it layed out smoothly, and cut that section (or, frankly, you could probably sit in a chair with the quilt on your lap, and cut it out with a nice pair of scissors!).

The pictures below show how I stitched the pattern pieces in bright pink thread right onto my quilted fabric and then cut the pieces out with scissors by cutting just outside the stitched lines.  This process is so easy!!

This pattern was designed by Tammy of The Quilting Inc., and the sewing instructions to construct the coat are available for free on her website, right here.
