Coronavirus Stay-Home Order

Binding my Meadowland quilt.

What a crazy time we are living in right now. On March 23, 2020, the Washington state governor issued a 2-week “Stay Home – Stay Healthy” order to slow the spread of the Coronavirus. On March 25, 2020, the Idaho state governor issued a 21-day stay-at-home order. Near the end of the 2 weeks, the Washington order was extended to May 4. Both states have now also closed K-12 schools through the end of the school year.

At the beginning of this craziness, we had already begun the process of selling a condo in Spokane, Washington and transitioning to full-time residence in Priest River, Idaho. Surprisingly, the sale is still going through, and we expect to close the sale by April 21. We are moving this week, and by the middle of next week, I will be in Priest River full-time.

With this change, I will have increased capacity for quilting services. I know several of you out there have been working on quilt tops while staying home and practicing social distancing. I am continuing to offer 30% off for the first quilt for new customers, as well as 20% off for Meadowland or Sunshowers QAL quilts. I will work with you to select the perfect quilting pattern for your quilt, and I can get your quilt quilted and returned to you very quickly… no need to wait months!

I’m looking forward to all of the beautiful quilts that will be completed when we see our country getting back to normal in the coming weeks and months!

Longarm League Specials

I recently joined the Longarm League, which is a network of quilters who offer longarm quilting services. The Longarm League has partnered with the pattern designers for the Sunshowers Quilt and Meadowland Quilt. Through that partnership, I am offering 20% off quilting services for any Sunshowers Quilt I receive between now and June 30, 2020 and for any Meadowland Quilt I receive between now and July 31, 2020.

For new clients, I will also honor my new client discount of 30% on another quilt, separate from the Sunshowers or Meadowland.

I have a quick turnaround time, and would love to help you complete these or any other quilts you have pieced.

We’re Not Alone

It was a very snowy weekend. We started with about 9 inches on the ground, and by Sunday night there was about 30!

This beautiful eagle flew by Sunday morning and perched on top of a tree right across the river from us. My husband took these shots with his phone through the telescope. Pretty cool!

Saturday was a quilting day. I pieced this cute hearts wall hanging. Didn’t have what I needed for a border, but found the perfect red in my Spokane stash Sunday night. I’ll get it finished so I can quilt it this next weekend.

An Accurate Forecast

The snow is here! We have about 20 inches on the ground – with 9 of that in last 24 hours…and it is still snowing!!! We are expecting about 10 more inches before the weekend is over.

So…as also predicted, it is a perfect weekend for quilting!

Loaded this cute fox quilt onto Lucey the longarm machine last night, and quilted it using free-motion vines and leaves.

More projects in the works today, including a heart-themed wall hanging for the quilt studio. Stay tuned…

Winter is Here!

Above is an image of the “Patchwork River” we can see from the quilting studio. This truly is God’s country!

We are expecting to get hit with a lot of snow this weekend, and it sounds like a perfect opportunity to stay indoors and work on quilts!

My plan is to quilt the “foxy” quilt below with a snuggly flannel backing using a free-motion meandering leaves pattern. Progress pics to come – of both the snowy weather and the quilt!
